FAQs
What is an NFT?
NFT is an acronym for “non-fungible token.” Essentially, it is a digital certificate of ownership for a digital asset, like a digital image or audio file.
What do I need to purchase an NFT for the digital art in your collection?Â
You will need a crypto wallet, like Metamask. You will also need some cryptocurrency in your wallet. Check out OpenSea’s guide on purchasing NFTs.
Aren’t NFT’s bad for the environment?
This is a legitimate concern because creating (minting) NFTs involves a verification process that uses a resource-intensive “consensus protocol” called Proof of Work (PoW). However, we decided to only use the Polygon blockchain because it uses a less resource-hungry Proof of Stake (PoS) protocol, making Giving is Beautiful an eco-friendly project. You can read more here: “Why Eco-Friendly Projects Choose Polygon.”
