Shayma Al-Shiri

As a Black and Middle Eastern Muslim immigrant woman who lives in today’s America, Shayma Al-shiri uses art to challenge stereotypes. Based in New York City, the 23 year old digital artist creates content inspired by religion and the reassurance it can provide during times of difficulty. In fact, Shayma says the very act of creating art strengthens her relationship to God, and ultimately makes her a better Muslim.
